Leader of the Liberal Democrats Sir Menzies Campbell has visited Bristol to give the Lib Dems' campaign to take majority control of the city council a flying start.

Along with Bristol West MP Stephen Williams, and Deputy Council Leader Simon Cook, he visited the SS Great Britain to see the new exhibition there to mark the 200th anniversary of the birth of IK Brunel.

In the evening Sir Ming addressed 100 local Lib Dems to inspire them to victory at a black tie dinner at Wills Hall in Sneyd Park.

The Lib Dems are only 4 seats away from taking majority control of the City Council for the first time. They have been running the council as a minority administration for the past year.
