Stephen Williams today attended the University of Bristol Freshers' Fair at the Students' Union building in Clifton to welcome new students to Bristol.

Commenting on the Freshers' Fair, "As a Bristol graduate myself, I well remember going to my own freshers' fair, and joining the Lib Dems. Little did I realise then that I would one day be the MP for my adopted home of Bristol. Who knows, maybe one of the students who has joined this week will be my successor!"

"It is always pleasing to note the enthusiasm of new students as they join the various societies and groups that make a big contribution to life in Bristol, in particular, the work of Student Community Action, such as Dinner Dances for the elderly and children's Christmas parties."
