Bristol West MP Stephen Williams says he's worried about the scale of land sales being proposed by Labour led Bristol City Council.

He's written to the Council asking for a definitive list of all the parks and green spaces being considered for disposal in his seat.

He said, "Bristol West contains some of the city's best loved green spaces. The Downs is protected by an Act of Parliament but I am concerned to hear that the Council is considering selling off large areas of other unprotected green spaces. There must be complete and open consultation with the public about any proposed land sales. I understand that the Council has run into budgetary problems yet again and is also under pressure to build more homes in the city. But they must not rush into a sale of the city's precious green spaces."
